Mitchell’s big game pushes Tiger men past Broncos

The No. 4 Tigers (16-1, 7-1 GPAC) shot 57 percent from the field and 52 percent from beyond the three-point line. The long-range shooting of DWU was bolstered by Mitchell's 6-of-7 performance from deep. Mitchell added seven rebounds and three assists in the win.
Three other Tigers finished in double figures in the scoring column, led by junior guard Trae Bergh (Crooks, S.D.) with 16 points, including four 3-pointers. Senior forward Luke Bamberg (Corsica, S.D.) added 14 points and six assists, while junior Jade Miller (Mitchell, S.D.) came off the bench to chip in 10 points.
The Tigers outrebounded Hastings 34-28, while combining for 21 assists and 13 turnovers.
Hastings was led by Brandon Kruse with 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field, while Tobin Reinwald added 15 points.
The Broncos shot 23-of-56 from the field and 2-of-21 from long range. Hastings finished with 10 assists and 12 turnovers.
The Tigers return home for a GPAC matchup with Northwestern College at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, S.D.
