MEN FINISH 2ND AT DWU SPRING INVITE, WOMEN COME UP IN 3RD
Mitchell, S.D. –
The Tigers wrapped up their home meet with six golfers bringing home medals and the men's team brought home a second-place finish. Juan Florez, Peyton Bettcher, Connor Calahan, Carson Van Beek, Erin Moncur, and Kaylee Johnson all received medals for their top ten finishes after the two-day meet at Lakeview Golf Course. The men's team finished four strokes behind Jamestown. This was the first annual DWU Spring Invite and first golf tournament the Tigers have hosted in over ten years, with the previous meet being named the Palace City Invitational.
Peyton Bettcher earned a third-place finish after he birdied six holes and shot one over in the second round of the tourney. Juan Florez and Bettcher shot the exact same score, but Peyton won the tie breaker and Florez finished with a fourth-place medal. Carson Van Beek and Connor Calahan finished in the top ten as well for the men's team.
Erin Moncur finished seven over par after two rounds and claimed the second-place spot. Kaylee Johnson was the fourth best finisher in the meet with her two 83's. Ashton Austreim and Sara Sudenga finished a few spots out of the top ten. Kelsey Morrison, Macee Bartels, and Shauna Radant finished in the top twenty-two or better to round out the women's team.
