Hoek welcomes Burr and Klein to the DWU women’s golf team
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University women’s golf team welcomes their newest members, Jade Burr and Ronae Klein to the roster for the 2018-19 season, women’s head golf coach Tom Hoek announced Thursday.

Burr, a native of Belle Fourche, S.D., was named to the All-Tournament Team her senior and junior seasons for her play on the course. She notched a second-place finish at the South Dakota Class 'A' Golf Tournament in 2017, a fifth-place finish in 2016, a fifth-place finish in 2015 and a seventh-place finish in 2014.
At the BHC Tournament, she finished as a runner-up in 2014, 2015 and 2017. She also won the Region 4A Tournament in 2016 and was the region runner-up in 2014 and 2015.
She helped her team clinch a region championship in 2014, a team conference championship in 2013 and a team fourth-place finish at the state golf tournament in 2014.
"Jade is going to bring a very athletic and competitive element to our program," Hoek said. "Here character and integrity will be a great fit with our values in the program and the passion that she has for the game is apparent through her successful high school and junior golf career. Golf has been a large part of her family life which will transition right to our own golf family here on campus."
Burr is the daughter of William and Susan Burr and plans to major in elementary education and special education.
Klein, a native of Winner, S.D., helped her team win the 2017 regional tournament. During the past two years she placed 12th and 13th at the South Dakota Class 'A' Golf Tournament.
During her junior season, Klein rolled to individually win every tournament except for one. An average stroke of 82-88 helped her accomplish this feat.
She was named MVP of the Winner girls' golf team three years for her efforts on the course. Klein also qualified for the state golf tournament every year.
She was a member of the National Honor Society and the honor roll.
"Ronae has an incredible self-driven work ethic that makes her standout amongst other athletes," Hoek said. "She brings such a good-natured approach to the team aspect and we are very excited for her to be joining our Tiger family. She has worked extremely hard on her game the last couple of years and success has followed and we look for that to continue into her collegiate career."
Klein is the daughter of Doyle and Brenda Klein and plans to major in athletic training.
