Omaha, Neb. – Dakota Wesleyan softball comes up short in the double header Saturday afternoon against the College of Saint Mary Flames. The Tigers combined for 13 hits between game one and game two.

How It Happened
Game One
- The Tigers struck first in game one from Omaha as Alyssa Burke and Adriana Thomason completed the double steal placing them on second and third.
- Nora Nelson then stepped to the plate with one out and hit a triple to center field driving Burke and Thomason in to score.
- The Tigers struck again in the second inning as Burke doubled to left center allowing Aubrey Garbarek to score, pushing the Tigers lead to 3-0.
- CSM answered in the bottom of the second with a solo shot to left center field, cutting the DWU lead 3-1
- The Flames tallied two runs in the third inning to tie the game at 3-3, then two more in the bottom of the fourth in what would be the final score of game one CSM 5, DWU 3
- The Tigers had a chance to tie the game in the top of the seventh inning after Thomason walked to start the inning off and McKinnely Mull singled to left field.
- In game one, Burke was 3-for-4 with one run, one RBI, a double, and a pair of stolen bases.
- Thomason went 2-for-3 with one run, a double, and a stolen base.
- Nelson was 1-for-4 with a triple and two RBI.
- Tava Boone collected the loss after tossing five complete innings, allowing 11 hits, and striking out three.
Game Two
- After a three-up and three-down first inning from both sides, CSM struck in the bottom of the second after an RBI triple to right field.
- The Flames followed with a three-run home run to right field in the third inning pushing their lead to 4-0 over DWU.
- The Tigers held CSM scoreless for the fourth and fifth innings before putting up a lone run in the sixth, closing the gap.
- Burke came around to score on a Mull ground out to third base as DWU continued to trail 4-1.
- After some adjustments in the top of the seventh, the Tigers were only able to drive one run across, stranding the game tying runs on base.
- Burke was 2-for-4 with one run and a pair of stolen bases in game two.
- Nelson collected an RBI as well in game two.
- Meghan Daffern was given the loss after pitching 5.2 innings and allowing nine hits.

Dakota Wesleyan Softball is back in action on Tuesday, March 29. With only three more road trips remaining in the 2022 season, the Tigers will take one (RV) Northwestern. DWU and the Raiders are set to get underway at 3 p.m. for game one in Orange City, Iowa.
