How It Happened
Game One
- The Tigers quickly allowed three runs through the first two full frames of play in game one.
- In the bottom of the fifth, DWU put their first run on the board after a single up the middle by Aubrey Garbarek that allowed Reagan Grossi to score as they trailed 3-1 with one out.
- Alyssa Burke reached first on a fielder's choice as pinch-runner Ella Peterson scored to trail by one.
- Adriana Thomason hit a two-RBI single through the right side, giving the Tigers their first lead of the game 4-3.
- McKinnely Mull followed with a double to right-center field, allowing Burke to score and placing runners on the corners with a 5-3 lead.
- DWU then allowed the Jimmies to plate four runs in the sixth inning and two runs in the seventh inning as UJ defeated the Tigers 9-5 in game one.
- Thomason was 1-for-4 with two RBI; Mull went 1-for-4 with one RBI and a double.
- Meghan Daffern tallied the loss; after tossing 5.2 innings and allowing 12 hits and seven earned runs.
Game Two
- Dakota Wesleyan trailed again early in game two as the Jimmies put up one run on two hits.
- Thomason was first aboard for the Tigers in game two earning a walk before Mull singled through the right side placing runners on first and second.
- Allison McElveny loaded the bases; after she was hit by a pitch as the Tigers had one out.
- Nora Nelson earned a two-RBI double to center field, putting DWU ahead 2-1 after one frame.
- Mull came up big in the second inning with a grand slam to left field, pushing the Tigers lead to 6-1.
- DWU hit another towering shot in the fifth inning as Peyton Bagley went long over dead center field for two more runs and the 8-1 lead.
- The Jimmies scored a run in the sixth inning after a double to left field before stranding two more on base as the Tigers grabbed the 8-2 rubber match win.
- Mull went 4-for-4 with two runs, four RBI, a double, and a home run.
- Aubrey Garbarek was 2-for-3 with one run and a double.
- Bagley and Nelson each tallied a pair of RBI.
- Tava Boone earned the win; after tossing seven full frames allowing seven hits, two earned runs, and striking out eight of her 31 total batters faced.

Dakota Wesleyan softball is back in action next week, Friday, April 22, as they welcome the Broncos to town. The Tigers and Hastings will square off in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. from Dr. McWhirter Field.
