BURKE BREAKS THE SINGLE SEASON RECORD IN GAME TWO AS THE TIGERS SPLIT FINAL GAME ON THE ROAD
Seward, Neb. – Dakota Wesleyan softball splits final regular season road game of 2022 against Concordia. Alyssa Burke rewrites the record book once again, breaking the single season stolen base record with 28 and counting this year.

How It Happened
Game One
- Dakota Wesleyan softball stayed consistent in game one and kept the errors to zero.
- Adriana Thomason was first aboard for the Tigers as McKinnely Mull stepped up hitting a double to left center field for the first run of the game and the 1-0 lead.
- Peyton Bagley drove a run in for the 2-0 lead in the top of the second while holding the Bulldogs hitless through the first four complete innings.
- CUNE made it a one run deficit in the bottom of the fifth inning on a single, but still trailed the Tigers 2-1.
- Alyssa Burke reached on a fielder's choice in the top of the seventh that allowed Bagley to score and push the lead back to two runs.
- With a stolen base in the top of the seventh, Burke tied the single season record with 27 swiped bases and placing runners on second and third.
- Mull drove in the final run of the game for DWU as she grounded out to second driving Burke in for the 4-1 game one win.
- Thomason was 1-for-3 with one run, a sac fly, and a stolen base.
- Mull went 1-for-4 with two RBI, and a double.
- Ella Peterson and Bagley each tallied a stolen base.
- Meghan Daffern pitched a full seven innings for her sixth win of the season, allowing five hits, one run, and striking out four.

- Dakota Wesleyan softball jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in game two over the Bulldogs.
- McElveny gets the Tigers rolling in game two with a double to right field driving in Mull for the 1-0 lead.
- Starting off the second inning, DWU strings three singles together driving in three more runs and pushing the lead out to 4-0 over the Bulldogs.
- In the fourth, CUNE puts up eight runs on four hits to flip the score and lead the Tigers 8-4.
- A solo home run in the fifth inning by Tianna Boone cuts the Bulldogs lead to three.
- In the sixth inning, Burke rewrote another record in the Tiger softball history books, swiping her 28thstolen base of the 2022 season.
- The stolen base by Burke put runners on second and third for Thomason to drive in a run via sac fly to center field.
- The Bulldogs put up two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the game 12-6 over DWU.
- Burke goes 4-for-4 with one run, a double, and a stolen base; Thomason goes 1-for-3 with two RBI and a sac fly.
- Bagley goes 2-for-2 with two runs and a double.
- Tava Boone was hit with the loss after tossing three innings and allowing five hits, four earned runs, and striking out three.
