Tiger Golf Concludes Fall Season at William Penn
OSKALOOSA, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University golf teams participated in their final round of the fall at the William Penn Classic hosted by William Penn University Monday in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

For the Tiger women, senior Lauren Fitts (Brookings, S.D.), the three-time defending Great Plains Athletic Conference champion, continues to have phenomenal performances. Fitts won the classic with a two-round score of 152, carding a 76 in both rounds. Fitts finished two strokes ahead of Peru State College's Marisa Pribnow.
Heading into the event, Fitts had won both GPAC qualifiers hosted over the last two weeks.
Junior April Barnett (Lakeview, Texas) finished in a tie for eighth. Barnett carded a two-round total of 163, finishing the first round with an 80 and the second with an 83. Junior Taylor Anshutz (Gregory, S.D.) finished the two-day event in 21st-place with a two-round score of 169. Freshman Niki Nelson (Platte, S.D.) ended in 31st-place finishing the two rounds with a 178.
As a team the DWU women finished the two-day event in third place out of a nine teams. The Tigers finished the event with a two-round total team score of 662, finishing the first round in 327 and the second round in 335. William Penn won the classic with a two-round total of 632.
For the men, junior Michael Whitney (Brandon, S.D.) led the way finishing the classic in a tie for second place shooting a 146. Senior Anthony Husher (Winner, S.D.) and junior Thomas Hogg (Aberdeen, S.D.) tied for 16th place carding a two-round total of 151. Sophomore Ben McNiven (Merritt, B.C., Canada) ended the classic in a tie for 28th place with a 153. Sophomore Russell Pick (Kimball, S.D.) carded a 161 to finish in a tie for 51st.
On the DWU B team, junior Cal Wiese (Fedora, S.D.) finished in a tie for fifth place with a two-round total of 147. Junior Elliot Banks (East Sussex, England) shot a 149 to tie for 11th place, while senior Tyler Burr (Belle Fourche, S.D.) shot a 153 to finish in a tie for 28th. Junior Gabe Dirksen (Lead, S.D.) tied for 51st place shooting a 161 and sophomore Ryker Kreutzfelt (Mitchell, S.D.) tied for 66th with a 172. Nash Bucher from Central College won the classic with a two-round total of 143.
The DWU men fielded two teams. The Tiger "A" Team finished in a tie for third place with Central College's B Team. The Tiger's A Team carded a two-round total of 601, with a first-round score of 297 and a second-round score of 304. The B Team for DWU finished in eighth place shooting a two-round total of 610. William Penn's A Team topped the leaderboard with a 598.
The Tigers will be on hiatus until the spring season.
