DWU drops road matchup against RV Jimmies
JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team played its second game in two days and fell to the RV University of Jamestown in straight sets in Great Plains Athletic Conference competition Wednesday in Jamestown, N.D.

Set scores were 14-25, 22-25, 23-25.
The Jimmies (18-6, 8-5 GPAC) took the opening set after never trailing. After Jamestown got out to a quick 5-2 lead in the second set, the Tigers (14-12, 3-10 GPAC) rallied and took their first lead of the game after a Brittany Bergquist (Wolsey, S.D.) kill.
With the set tied 8-8, Chelsey Heeg (Freeman, S.D.) helped DWU regain the lead with a kill of her own. Both teams answered each other point-for-point, until the Jimmies finished with three-straight points to take the set.
The third set was back-and-forth again as neither team could gain a commanding lead on the other. With Jamestown leading by five late in the set, the Tigers clawed their way back within a point after a Rebecca Frick (Yankton, S.D.) kill. However, the Jimmies would go on to take the set and the match on Wednesday night.
Frick led the charge for DWU with 16 digs and 11 kills, while Bridgett Knobbe (Norfolk, Neb.) added 27 assists and nine digs. Madison Smith (Watertown, S.D.) and Heeg tallied six kills apiece, as Mallory Cooper (Orchard, Neb.) finished with nine digs.
The Tigers play in non-conference action against Friends University at 5 p.m. and York College at 7 p.m. Friday in York, Neb.
