BEAU PRIEGNITZ PROMOTED TO DIRECTOR OF SPORTS INFORMATION
For Immediate Release: June 30, 2023
Mitchell, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University Athletic Director Jon Hart, has announced the appointment of Beau Priegnitz, the current Assistant Director of Sports Information, to the position of Director of Sports Information.
Hart stated, “Beau has been an outstanding asset and resource for our athletics department and campus community. He understands our brand and has all the tools to promote our programs at the highest level. He has built a strong relationship with our staff, students, local media, NAIA colleagues, and I look forward to seeing him excel in this role.”
Priegnitz joined the DWU staff during the summer of 2022 as the first full-time assistant director of sports information. He played a crucial role in the representation and coverage of DWU athletics during the 2022-23 seasons. Priegnitz was the main contact for football, cross country, track and field, women’s basketball, and baseball. He was responsible for the creation of the new 3D rotating Tiger logo that is used across the campus and at athletic events. Priegnitz also created and designed the Tiger basketball’s hype videos that played before every home game.
Before arriving at Dakota Wesleyan University Priegnitz was an assistant in the sports information office at Southwest Minnesota State University and Wayne State College. His responsibilities at both schools included but were not limited to, running of game day operations, keeping stats for all sports, writing releases, archiving, updating the athletic website, and updating game notes and previews. Priegnitz gained valuable insight and knowledge for his new position and how to operate at a high level from current directors, Kelly Loft (SMSU) and Mike Grosz (WSC).
Priegnitz spoke about his new position. “I am honored to step into this role and have the opportunity to cover and promote an incredible athletic department and university. I take a lot of pride in my work and especially take pride in promoting an amazing group of staff, faculty, coaches, and players that is Dakota Wesleyan University. Additionally, I would like to thank Athletic Director Jon Hart and everyone else involved for this opportunity.”
Priegnitz takes over for Brandt McCall who accepted a position at the NAIA National office in Kansas City, Mo.
