MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University women's soccer team stepped up last season to reach the Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament semifinals under first-year coach Clayson Glasgow and the team is looking to build for the future with a strong recruiting class in 2015.
The Tigers went through last season with one goalkeeper on the roster, but Glasgow added some depth as Kira Miller signed a National Letter of Intent to play soccer for DWU next season, it was announced Friday. The Tigers recruiting class now sits at six members including Miller, a native of Preston, Idaho.
"I'm really excited to add another good caliber goalkeeper to our program," Glasgow said. "I have no doubt about her anticipated success at Dakota Wesleyan University, both on and off the field. Kira will not only compete, but she will definitely bring some experience to our team."
Miller comes to DWU with two years of eligibility remaining after transferring from Western Wyoming Community College. With WWCC, Miller was named Academic All-Region and Academic All-Conference three times.
During her high school career, the 5-foot-8 goalkeeper was named to the All-Valley First Team four times for Preston High School, while earning Idaho All-State Second Team honors two times.
"I chose Dakota Wesleyan because it's the perfect place for me to further my education playing the game I love," Miller said.
