Johnson, DWU Women Continue to Roll
SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University women’s soccer team picked up its sixth straight win and second consecutive in the Great Plains Athletic Conference with a 3-0 victory over Dordt College Wednesday in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Senior forward Megan Johnson (Rapid City, S.D.), who leads the nation in goals, scored all three for the Tigers in the final 13 minutes of regulation. She has scored at least two goals in six straight games and leads the NAIA with 22 goals in 10 contest.
The game was scoreless through the first 77 minutes of play before Johnson broke the ice on a breakaway shot over the head of Dordt goalkeeper Deianira Felts. The final two goals came on unassisted plays from the left side in the 85th and 88th minute.
Defensively, DWU goalkeeper Cici Schneider (Sioux Falls, S.D.) picked up her second shutout of the season, making 14 saves in the win. The Defenders outshot the Tigers 18 to 9 overall.
The Tigers got a shot on goal from senior forward Thara Ali Said (Muscat, Oman) and junior midfielder Maranda Ehrenfried (Pierre, S.D.), while Dordt's Natalie Sakuma hit the net five times, but was stopped each time by Schneider.
The Tigers (6-4, 2-0 GPAC) continue GPAC play against No. 25 Hastings College at 3 p.m. at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell, S.D.
