Lundy inks with DWU men’s golf
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men’s golf team is excited to announce the signing of Bennett Lundy for the 2018-19 season, DWU men’s head golf coach Tom Hoek announced Monday.
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's golf team is excited to announce the signing of Bennett Lundy for the 2018-19 season, DWU men's head golf coach Tom Hoek announced Monday.
The Aberdeen, S.D., native was a three-year starter and competed in golf for four years for Aberdeen Central High School. During his senior campaign, Lundy tied for eighth at the South Dakota Class 'AA' State Golf Tournament. He finished his senior season tied for 12th at the State Golf Tournament.
After carding an average stroke of 76 during his senior year, Lundy guided his team to an Eastern South Dakota Conference Championship. He finished his junior season with an average stroke of 80.
"He brings a great attitude and a wealth of golf experience from his high school career and summer amateur tournaments," Hoek said.
Lundy competed in the South Dakota Golf Association as well as the Minnesota Junior Players Tour.
He was named to the All-State Team his junior and senior seasons, while being tabbed All-Conference his senior year. Lundy was also named Most Improved Golfer in 2017.
"We couldn't be more excited about Bennett joining our program," Hoek commented. "I see Bennett making a great impact on our program with his character and passion for the game."
Bennett is the son of Josh and Dani Lundy and plans to major in business sports management.
