MEN’S SOCCER COMES AWAY WITH THREE ALL-GPAC HONORS
MITCHELL, S.D. – Under first-year head coach Brady Van Holland, the Dakota Wesleyan University men’s soccer program collected a trio of postseason accolades as three Tigers came away with 2021 All-GPAC Honorable Mention honors including; Rafael Calderon, Barry-Dre Tibbetts and Jabari Campbell.
MITCHELL, S.D. – Under first-year head coach Brady Van Holland, the Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer program collected a trio of postseason accolades as three Tigers came away with 2021 All-GPAC Honorable Mention honors including; Rafael Calderon, Barry-Dre Tibbetts and Jabari Campbell.
Calderon, who led Dakota Wesleyan in goals scored, finished the year scoring seven goals including a pair of multi-goal performances. In his first season with DWU, the Talca, Chile, native also led the Blue and Gray in shots and shots on goal with 34 and 21, respectively.
He opened the season with two goals on four shots helping Dakota Wesleyan secure the season-opening victory against Clarke University. Calderon attempted a season-best seven shots from the left back position versus in-state rival Presentation College.
Joining the Tigers midseason at midfielder, Tibbetts wrapped up the 2021 campaign with both a goal and an assist on 12 shots attempted. The Cayman Islands, Cayman Islands, freshman hit the pitch in nine matches for Dakota Wesleyan while recording eight starts.
Rounding out the all-conference accolades for DWU is Campbell, who registered 14 starts at the forward position. He finished the season with two goals including the game-winner versus both Clarke and Presentation. The 6-foot-0 native of the Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands also notched an assist along with a season-high three shots versus the Saints.
