Broncos top Tiger men in GPAC action

HASTINGS, Neb. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team could not get going against defending Great Plains Athletic Conference champion Hastings College Saturday in Hastings, Neb.
The Tigers registered one shot on goal in the 7-1 loss to the Broncos, dropping DWU to 3-8 overall and 0-3 in the GPAC. Hastings finished with 2X shots in the game.
Freshman Gilmar "Yoshi" Kogiso got DWU on the board late in the game with his fifth goal of the season in the 77th minute. Six different Broncos scored in the game, with Daniel Whitehall picking up two second-half tallies. Murlio Ceruli finished with a goal and two assists.
DWU starting goalkeeper Gaston Miteff (Buenos Aires, Agentina) allowed four goals, while making three saves in the loss.
The Tigers look to get back in the win column against Morningside College at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell, S.D. The game is the annual DWU Soccer Red Card Cancer Awareness Match. All proceeds from ticket and shirt sales will go to Daniel Ohayon, a soccer coach in Sioux Falls, S.D.
