MITCHELL, S.D. – After seven seasons with the Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer program, Head Coach Jeremy Tosaya has resigned from his position, it was announced by DWU Athletic Director Curt Hart on Tuesday.
Tosaya leaves the Tiger program for an opportunity with the South Dakota State Soccer Association, where he will serve as the organization's technical and executive director.
"I am extremely thankful for the opportunities that I have received in my time at Dakota Wesleyan," Tosaya said. "I appreciate all of the effort of the players, assistant coaches and administration that made my time at DWU special."
In his seven seasons with the Tigers, Tosaya compiled an overall record of 51-70-10, including a 6-12-1 mark in 2015. DWU had a strong stretch run last season, winning three of the final four league games to make the Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament.
Under Tosaya, DWU made the GPAC postseason each of the last six seasons, with the team winning a first round game in 2010 and 2011. Tosaya coached five All-GPAC performers and 14 NAIA Scholar Athletes.
"We want to thank Jeremy for all he has done for our soccer programs over the past seven years," Hart said. "We were extremely lucky to have his knowledge and passion for the game for the time that we did. We wish him nothing but the best in his new position."
Tosaya was the fourth coach in program history, which dates back to 2006, and had a longer tenure than all of his predecessors combined. He leaves as the program's winningest coach, with three nine-win seasons.
A search for a new coach will begin immediately.
