NO. 13 TIGERS SET TO HOST NO.1 JIMMIES
Mitchell, S.D. – No. 13 Dakota Wesleyan Volleyball welcomes No. 1 the University of Jamestown in a GPAC showdown. The top two teams in the conference will send up first serve at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow for a blackout in the Christen Family Athletic Center.
ABOUT THE TIGERS
- The Tigers enter the match with records of 16-3 overall, 6-1 in GPAC play, 4-1 at home, and currently sit second in the conference rankings.
- DWU dropped their first home match of the season earlier in the week to in-state rival Dakota State 3-1.
- Dakota Wesleyan is averaging 14.03 kills per set and hitting .234 percent; placing them seventh in the country for kills per set and 20th in the nation for hitting percentage.
- Ady Dwight continues to lead the Tigers in kills per set with a mean of 4.18 while hitting .343 percent on the season.
- Mariah Gloe and Mackenzie Miller are clipping a 2.95 and 2.77 kills per set average through 19 matches.
- The Tigers rank eighth in the country for assists per set, averaging 13 assists per set.
- Madeline Else leads DWU as Coach Wilber's top setter, with a mean of 11.42 assists per set.
- Hanna Reiff is notching a mean of 5.86 digs per set as she has tallied 381 total digs on the season.
- Dwight has collected 74 total blocks on the season for a mean of 1.14 blocks per set
ABOUT THE JIMMIES
- The University of Jamestown comes to the Christen Athletic Center with a perfect overall record of 19-0, 8-0 in conference play, and 5-0 on the road.
- The Jimmies are the top-ranked team in the NAIA currently, also sitting in first in the GPAC standings
- Jamestown ranks third in the nation for kills per set with an average of 14.80 and second in the nation in hitting percentage with .299 percent.
- Leading the Jimmied in kills per set are Kalli Hegerle and Corina Huff, collecting 2.98 and 2.60 kills per set, respectively.
- Huff and Darienne Johnson lead in hitting percentage with .444 percent and .400 percent, respectively.
- The University of Jamestown's top assists leaders are Jackie Meiklejohn with 412 assists and Megan Gaffaney with 336 assists.
- Jayla Ritter is the leading blocker for Jamestown with 69 total blocks, averaging 1.17 blocks per set.
- Jimmies volleyball is led by 13-year head coach Jon Hegerle.
LAST MEETING
- The Tigers dropped both meetings last year to Jamestown.
- DWU dropped the home match in four-set, then slipped on the road in a three-set match.
- At home, Dwight led the attacking effort with 14 kills and Miller contributed with ten kills of her own.
- Else earned 46 assists in the home match against the Jimmies.
- Gloe and Reiff each tallied 20 digs in the Corn Palace match.
- On the road, returners Dwight and Jadie DeLange notched seven and five kills, respectively.
