FOURTH EDITION OF NATIONAL POLL RANKS TIGERS VOLLEYBALL AT 15
Mitchell, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball remains in the top-25 for the second straight NAIA National Coaches Poll. The Tigers dropped from 13th to 15th this week after three straight losses last week to Dakota State, No. 1 Jamestown, and No. 10 College of Saint Mary. DWU rebounded last night with a four-set win over Dordt who is now ranked 16th in the nation.
Wilber and company are set for a nonconference match tonight against Mayville State. The junior varsity squads will toss up first serve at 3:30 p.m., then the varsity teams square off at 5 p.m. from the Christen Athletic Center.
Poll Methodology
- The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and Unaffiliated Groups.
- The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second place and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
- Teams that receive only one point on the ballot are not considered "receiving votes"
