TIGER SOFTBALL PICKED 12TH IN GPAC PRESEASON POLL
Mitchell, S.D. – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Preseason Coaches' poll was released today, and Dakota Wesleyan University softball was picked to finish 12th among the conference coaches.
After posting records of 15-29 overall and 7-15 in conference play, the Tigers look to improve to new heights this season under first year head coach Tommy Downs. The 2023 GPAC postseason tournament will feature two four-team brackets (Seeds 1,4,5,8 and Seeds 2,3,6,7) that are double elimination on May 3-4 at the sites of the top two seeds. Then the two bracket winners will play on Saturday, May 6, in the GPAC Championship (three game series) at the highest remaining seed.
The voting on GPAC preseason rankings were based on an 11-1 basis and coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.
