How It Happened
Game 1
McKinnely Mull was the first Tiger aboard in game one of the day after earning a walk to first base with two outs before being stranded. Briar Cliff was held to only two base runners in the bottom of the first inning where DWU got out of the jam with runners on second and third keeping the score at 0-0. After a three-up and three-down top of the second for Dakota Wesleyan, the Chargers drive a pair of runners across for the 2-0 lead. The Tigers threatened in the third inning after Lena McCoy led things off with a single to right field. Monique Gomez reached on a fielder's choice that forced the out at second for McCoy. Alyssa Burke was able to rope a hit into center field for a single placing runner on first and second before a pop out to second and a fly out to center stranding them both. Dakota Wesleyan stranded one runner on base in the following three innings of play, fourth, fifth, and six; then went one, two, three in the top of the seventh falling in game one.
Meghan Daffern tossed a complete game facing 27 batters and allowing eight hits, two runs, and one walk: while striking out one batter in 74 pitches thrown.

Game 2
Burke was off and running in game two for the Tigers. She led things off in the first with a walk before advancing to second on a passed ball then moving to third on a wild pitch. The next three DWU batters were unable to bring her in as they fell one, two, three. BCU put up a pair of runs early in game two on only one hit in the bottom half of the inning. Dakota Wesleyan softball fell in order in the second and third inning, while holding the Chargers to no runs in the same innings. Mull led off the top of the fourth inning with the only Tiger hit of the day as she sent a double to left center field. DWU was able to pose a threat in the fourth when they loaded the bases on a Bagley and McCoy walk but were all stranded on base. Briar Cliff in the bottom of the fourth drove in six runs on six hits to lead by the final score of 8-0.
Katelyn Farris tallied the loss after tossing three full innings and allowing seven hits, six runs, five earned, two walks, and one home run, while striking out one batter of her 18 batters faced. Danielle Ratute came into the game for one inning as she faced six batter and allowed two runs.
