Mitchell, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan softball dropped a close game one to the University of Jamestown. The bottom of the sixth inning was the difference maker in the game. The highlight of game two; McKinnely Mull clearing the fence in left center field for her 11th long shot of the season.
Highlights of the Day
The Tigers held close to the Jimmies in game one, trailing 2-1 through the first five complete innings. DWU was able to tie the game in the top of the sixth at 2-2 as Reagan Grossi put in play a sac hit allowing Peyton Bagley to score. UJ jumped ahead in the sixth with three runs, but the Tigers were unable to tie the game back up in the seventh as the third and final out came a little to quick with runners on and down by a run.
Bagley highlighted game one, going 3-for-4, scoring two runs while driving in one. Brianna Dawson also had a hot bat going 2-for-3 with a run.
Game two there was only one highlight reel. That was McKinnely Mull tying the single season home run record set back in 2016 by Savannah Ahumada. In addition to tying the DWU program record for home runs, Mull's 11 home runs also places' her on top of the GPAC for long balls this season. Nationally, Mull is in a seven-way tie for fifth.
Mull's line for game two was one hit, three at bats, one run and one RBI.
