THREE TIGER SOFTBALL PLAYERS EARN ALL-CONFERENCE ACCOLADES
Mitchell, S.D. – The Great Plains Athletic Conference released the 2023 All-Conference honorees Tuesday morning. Among the honorees was sophomore, McKinnely Mull; junior, Alyssa Burke; and sophomore, Peyton Bagley.
The Vernal, Utah native McKinnely Mull grabbed first-team honors for the 2023 season as a sophomore after becoming the DWU Tiger softball programs new single season home run queen. She concluded her sophomore campaign with a .397 batting average: ranking her fifth in the GPAC, .446 OBP, and a .787 slugging percentage. She recorded 136 at bats during the season with 54 hits, 13 doubles, two triples, and 12 home runs: ranking her third in the conference. On the defensive side, she tallied 63 putouts with 116 assists, putting her at a season fielding percentage of .952.
For the second year in a row, securing a first-team honor is Rapid City, S.D. native, Alyssa Burke. In Burke's 133 at bats, she recorded 48 hits, one double, one triple, 10 RBI and scored 36 runs for the Tigers. She posted a .361 batting average, .397 OBP, and a .383 slugging percentage. Once on base, she was the top base stealer for the Tigers, swiping 21 bases and ranking her fourth in the GPAC for stolen bases.
The final Tiger softball player earning All-GPAC honors from the 2023 season is another Rapid City, S.D. native, Peyton Bagley. Bagley had the third most at bats for the Tigers this season with 124, having a line of 48 hits, eight doubles, seven triples (tying the DWU softball single season record), six home runs, 37 RBI and 30 runs scored. She concluded the 2023 season with a .387 batting average, .433 OBP, and a .710 slugging percentage. Bagley was near perfect in fielding percentage as well in the 2023 season, with 60 put outs and four assists to secure a .928 fielding percentage.
