How It Happened
Game 1
The first full inning for the Tigers and Flames were identical on the line as both teams posted one run on two hits, no errors and leaving one runner stranded. Both CSM and DWU runs in the first came with two outs already tallied as well. Daffern was dealing well from the circle in game one, grabbing some key strikeouts when needed on extended at bats from the Flames. DWU in the bottom of the third inning got on base right away as McKinnely Mull led off being hit by a pitch. Peyton Bagley stepped up, already tied for the single season triples record with seven, needed one more to hole sole possession of that record. Bagley was able to land an RBI double in center field that bounced around before CSM was able to throw it in, but head coach Tommy Downs stopped her at second base as the Tigers were on top 2-1. After another efficient inning in the circle for Daffern, Bagley reached first on an error before advancing to second base, allowing Brianna Dawson to score extending the DWU lead to 3-1. CSM threatened to take the lead in the top of the seventh with runners on the corners and two outs. Dakota Wesleyan held the damage to only one run before a well hit lineout to third base for the 3-2 win.
Daffern tossed the complete game throwing 101 pitches while facing 31 batters. She allowed 10 hits, two runs, and striking out five tying her season high.

The Tigers held CSM to no hits in the second, third, and fourth innings before allowing two Flame hits in the fifth and stranding a pair of runners to keep the shutout win alive.
