How It Happened
Game 1
The Tigers were able to hold the Warriors off in game one, till Midland broke the 0-0 tie in the third inning with four runs on three hits and one DWU error. Game one got away quickly from the Tigers after that as the Midland was able to plate two more runs in the fifth and five runs in the sixth inning. Jaden Warner was the only Tiger with a hit in game one, going 1-for-2 as Meghan Daffern was credited with the loss after tossing five innings.
Game 2
The Warriors struck quickly again in game two of the evening, platting four runs in the first and two more in the second inning; but the Tigers were also able to get some runs in the first and second to trail 6-2. After holding Midland scoreless in the third inning and stranding a pair of runners, DWU grabbed another run in the bottom of the third inning after Peyton Bagley singled allowing Alyssa Burke to score. Dakota Wesleyan posted a breakout inning in the bottom of the fifth, scoring four runs on two hits as Brianna Dawson and Kaylie Mathiasen both reached base scoring two runs each for the 7-6 Tigers lead. DWU was unable to hold the lead as the Warriors scored three runs in the top of the seventh for the final score of 9-7.
Alyssa Burke tossed four complete innings in game two as she was hit with the loss after facing 18 batters and allowing three runs, two earned, and walking a pair of batters on 76 pitches thrown.

Up Next
Dakota Wesleyan University softball is back in action now on Sunday, April 16 against the Bulldogs of Concordia. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, but with impeding bad weather on it's way to Mitchell, the two coaching staff's agreed to push it back a day. The Tigers and Bulldogs will get underway in Mitchell at 1 and 3 p.m. at the Cadwell Sports Complex.
