MITCHELL, S.D. – Due to rain in the forecast for Thursday evening, the Dakota Wesleyan University baseball team has moved up the start time for its final home doubleheader, head coach Steve Gust announced Wednesday afternoon.
The Tigers host Dordt College in their final game of the year at Cadwell Park, and instead of starting at 4 p.m. as originally scheduled, the Great Plains Athletic Conference doubleheader will start at 1:30 p.m. to give the two teams more time to play before the rain is scheduled to start.
The Tigers are currently 20-29 overall and 8-8 and in a four-way tie for fourth in the GPAC. The top eight teams in the league make the conference tournament, which runs May 3-5 in Lincoln, Neb. After Thursday's home doubleheader, DWU travels to Mount Marty College Saturday, April 28, for its final regular-season game of the year starting at 4 p.m. in Yankton, S.D.
