MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University baseball team's season doesn't officially start until the spring of 2012, but the Tigers have scheduled a handful of games this fall to get a little extra time in on the field.
The Tigers host Augustana College, an NCAA Division II team, on Friday, Sept. 16, in a 5 p.m. doubleheader to start their fall schedule. They also host a club team from Sioux Falls Thursday, Sept. 22, at 6 p.m.
Dakota Wesleyan will put its players to the test as it twice hosts some of the best amateur baseball players from around the state of South Dakota. The Tigers play the South Dakota Amateur All-Stars at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, and Friday, Oct. 14. DWU will host its annual alumni game at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7, and the team will hold the Black and Blue World Series – an intra-squad tournament – from Sept. 17 through Sept. 21.
All games this fall will be played on Drake Field in the Cadwell Park complex in Mitchell. Admission is free, and everyone is invited to come get a sneak peak of this year's Tiger baseball team.
