The Tigers scored more points in a game than any other DWU team in history in a 126-35 win over the Bravehearts. The Tigers nearly set the record against OLC earlier in the year. The previous record was set in 2011-12, when DWU scored 116 points against Arizona Christian. The win moves DWU to 8-1 overall this season.
The Tigers had seven players finish in double figures while shooting 50 percent from the field and making 17 shots from deep.
DWU was led by junior forward Kristin Sabers (Mitchell, S.D.), with a game-high 28 points. Sabers was 10-of-13 from the field and a perfect 6-of-6 from behind the 3-point line. Sabers did her damage in just 14 minutes on the court.
Junior guard Gabby Frykbo (Sodertalje, Sweden) posted a season-high 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting.
The path to the new DWU scoring record was paved by the bench bench. The Tigers had six players come off the bench to score in double figures, including junior Kendra Cheeseman (Alexandria, S.D.) with a career-high 13 points and five rebounds.
Freshman Kelsey Bertram (Winner, S.D.) made the most of her time on the court with 11 points and 12 rebounds for her first career double-double. Sophomore Ashley Bray (Anoka, Minn.) scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds, while freshman Hope Menning (Corsica, S.D.) and junior LexyJo Deneke (Rapid City, S.D.) each added 10 points. Sophomore Madison Kuehl (Hartford, S.D.) pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds.
The Tigers outrebounded OLC 76-34, while finishing with a season-high 31 assists.
DWU returns to GPAC play against Dordt College at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Sioux Center, Iowa.
