DWU women’s basketball ranked 15th in NAIA GPA
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University women’s basketball team had a banner season in 2015-16, marching all the way to the national quarterfinals and picking up numerous awards along the way. The Tigers were just as successful in the classroom last year, adding another national award on Tuesday.
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University women's basketball team had a banner season in 2015-16, marching all the way to the national quarterfinals and picking up numerous awards along the way. The Tigers were just as successful in the classroom last year, adding another national award on Tuesday.
DWU was ranked 15th in the WBCA Academic Top-25 among all NAIA schools. The Tigers finished the 2015-16 school year with a combined GPA of 3.525, ranking fourth among schools from the Great Plains Athletic Conference.
The WBCA Academic Top-25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III; NAIA and junior/community college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2015-16 season is the 21st in which the WBCA as compiled the honor rolls.
The Tigers were also named an NAIA Scholar Team and finished the 2015-16 season with a record of 27-9. The 2016-17 DWU women's basketball schedule will be released later this week.
